DISABILITY, WOMEN, SPORT COMMISSIONS SET UP!
Saturday September 26 marked the dawn of an era for local sports.
Two Sport Commissions, the Disability and Women Sport Commissions were set up at the Happy Valley Hotel.
It was history in the making, as delegates from the different National Sports Associations turned up in numbers for the first of its kind general assembly.
Of course with the COVID-19 pandemic still prevailing, it’s worth mentioning that the measurements put in place to curb the spread of the virus, were strictly adhered to. Social distancing was observed and delegates to the inaugural conference wore masks and frequently sanitised their hands.
The next phase of the conference, which will be the last is slated for October 24th at the same venue, where the remaining two commissions will be set up. These are the Sport for All Commission and the Coaches Commission.
